So I told him, never figure that out again...
Friday night for Luke's 3 month birthday, we took him to Texas Road House for supper...really we just wanted to go...and while there Kyle estimated that I have fed Luke over 750 times.

Important Update

I dont' know HOW I could have forgotten to mention this. It's only the single biggest event in my life right now!! Luke has slept through the night 4 nights in a row! After talking to Audra, I now feed Luke for the last time at night at 10:30 and he sleeps until 7:15! He actually goes down for the night around 7:30 (if nothing threw off his schedule that day) and I get him up and feed him at 8 and then again at 10:30. He gets probably a good 11 1/2 hours of sleep every night. Which makes his new unfortunate habit of only taking 45 minute naps during the day a little more bearable.
Weigh Check
This is Luke's sad face. It's pretty pittiful. Especially when that little chin of his quivers.
LOVE his expression in this picture.
Here he is sitting in his Bumbo with the sleeper that Brandon and Shanna Hayes got him for Christmas.
Grandma Key made Luke this quilt for Christmas. He just discovered the wonderful different fabrics on it the other day. He would stare and stare at one pattern, then look at another and do the same thing. He has a pretty impressive attention span for a 3 month old. Not like Riley, his second cousin, I'm sure, but pretty impressive none the less.Today Luke and I went to the doctor for a weigh check. He is three months old today. He weighed 12lbs 8oz. He gained 1lb 4oz in one month. He is beginning to outgrow some of his 0-3 months clothes. He's getting big! I sang him happy birthday today. He looked at me. Then I sang:
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
You look like a monkey,
And you smell like one too!
He thought that was hilarious and gave me the hugest grin ever. It was pretty cute.

New Milestones!!
Luke decided that today would be a day of performances. The first one, not a good one at all!
We have been struggling to get Luke to take a bottle. He took the first two like a champ and we thought we would have no problems getting him to take a bottle. We were WRONG! After the first two, he would refuse and gag himself and choke on the bottle. Kyle enjoyed none of this, as he's the one giving the bottles. We finally emailed our pediatrician to get some advice, although we knew what he would say. We were right. I also got the advice of some other mommy friends. So this morning, I hid in our room and Kyle got up with Luke and tried to feed him at 7:30. It was a no go. I had bought several different bottles with different nipples on them to try. Kyle tried on and off until 9:30 when Luke at 3 oz. Not a full feeding, but close. So we called it a success. He went from 3:30am to 9:30 am with out eating. Kyle's going to start giving Luke one bottle a day at differing times. I have a meeting after church tomorrow, so he'll feed him them and attemp until he eats, and I will stay away until the meeting is over or Luke eats, whatever comes first. Then, Monday, Kyle will feed Luke at his 10:30 feeding. Our goal in all of this is to hire a babysitter once in a while...something I know Kyle is looking forward to. He likes to go out to the movies, and hasn't been able to. I'd like to be able to play Bunco with the girls at church one evening a month....
Also today was Luke's first official giggle. He's been working on giggling for a few weeks now, but finally mastered the task this evening. He giggled several times in a row, and there was no mistaking it. Our new goal in life will be to catch this event on video.
Luke also found his voice today. He's been doing some random cooing and noise making, and a few joyful noises unto his bear mobile that he loves so much...but tonight, it was just like he realized he could make noises ON PURPOSE! WHENEVER HE WANTED TO!! Needless to say, it was REALLY cute. I think finding his voice had something to do with the giggling as well.
Luke will be three months old this coming Friday, the 18th. I plan on taking him to the pediatrician on that day for a weigh check, so you can be looking for that update in a week. Kyle and I suspect he might be in the 12's now. He also seems longer to me. I'm excited and sad at the same time to see how much he's grown.
We're beginning on working on sleeping through the night. I added another feeding. His last feeding of the evening had been at 8pm and then he'll wake up once in the night...usually between 3 and 4. So, as of last night, I'm feeding him at 10:30 as well. He still got up at his usual 3:30am last night, but I'm hoping he'll extend that to later now. We'll see. He's really growing up!

Christmas Festivities

Luke had an eventful Christmas holiday season. December 23th we went to his great grandma Pat's for a family Christmas on Dana's side. He met Grandpa Dana for the first time as well as everyone else who was there! He looked very cute in his Santa Baby onsie our neighbors bought for him.
Christmas Eve we had Kyle's mom and husband, sister and her family, and Grandpa Wilbur and Georgeanne over for supper. This was Luke's first time to meet his Grandma Vicki.
Christmas Day, Kyle's sister, Bridget and her family, who had been staying with us left and we had Christmas day together, just our little family. We tried to open presents with Luke, but he fell asleep so we bravely carried on with out him.
Luke is also getting very good at holding his head up during "Tummy Time". He can get his little chest all the way off the floor and his head high enough to look you in the eye! He's playing with his Kangaroo toy he got from Traver.

Today, the day after Christmas, Luke's Grandma Olson is coming AND it snowed today! Kyle took a video of Luke and I out in the snow. He threw his first snowball and made his first snow angle.
I also included a bath picture, just because it was cute.

2 moth Dr. Visit
Luke was 2 months old on the 18th. So today, the 20th, we went to see his pediatrician, Dr. Stephens. It was a good visit. Luke is growing along. He now is 22 in long and weighs 11lbs 4oz. We talked about night sleep schedules. At any point I'm ready I can start letting him cry it out at night and make him sleep all night long. He's started waking up once to eat at night ( most of the time anyway!!) and I'm doing fine with that so I think we'll coast here for a while. Perhaps after the new year we'll try for all night. Luke also got 3 shots and one oral. Dr. Stephens said he'd prolly be fussy and feverish. Well he was right. Poor baby has a temperature 99.8 and is fussy when not asleep. Good news: he's been sleepy today!! I thought I had infant Tylenol at home so we didn't pick any up while in town. However, we got home and I realized I'd bought Childrens Tylenol (ages 2-11) ...which is not for Luke. So Kyle went back into town to get some medicine for Luke and he's feeling much better. He is able to deal with lifes struggles, like tooting and burping, diaper changes and moving around.
The Sandovals are coming over tonight for supper and to exchange gifts. Cindy's bringing me her shirts that she wore while she was nursing her boys that no longer fit. I'm excited. Maybe I can stop buying clothes that I KNOW will be too big when I'm done nursing!!
