Sleep

So, it's 7:20pm...and Luke is asleep.
You: Did he crash early? *concerned
Me: Nope. This is just about his normal time.
You: I wonder...what time does he get up in the morning? *sniggering...it has to be like 5am
Me: Usually around 7:30. This morning he got up at 8:00am.
You: Does he sleep all day long, too? *amazed
Me: Nope. He usually takes three 45 min. naps and one 30 min. nap.

The end.

It's all about me...

Even though our minister, Mark Henderson, said it's NOT all about me...this time...it really is.

The Rules: Link to the person that tagged you (Aubrey) and post the rules on your blog. Share 5 random and/or weird facts about yourself on your blog or Share the 5 top places on your “want to see or want to see again” list. or Share 5 things you never pictured being in your future when your were 25 years old. Tag a minimum of 5, maximum of 10 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog. The tagees have a choice of which they want to do.

Well, since I'm the tagee and have choices, I choose to tag no one. So ha! And since 25 was only a year ago, I'll not choose that one. I guess I'll go with Random Facts.

1. My clothes in my closet are arranged by sleeve length and then ROYGBIV. On all white hangers. My shoes are all in clear plastic tubs. I have flip flops, open toed, close-toed black, close-toed brown, and tennis shoes.

2. I graduated from High School with 33 other people.

3. I have a hard time matching my clothes. Kyle has to help. I will say I'm getting better.

4. We have plastic cups. Like colors have to be stacked, with the lighter of the two on top. I thought this would come to an end with Lukes arrival...but I CAN'T HELP MYSELF!

5. I insist that Kyle and Traver put their dirty dishes in the dishwasher...and then rearrange it every time so that it's RIGHT.

My list leads me to ask myself....am I diagnosable? *pondering the thought*

Guess What!?!!

Luke rolled over!!!!
And I missed it! I was at the grocery store this morning and so I left Luke with Kyle. Kyle laid him down for his 1st nap on his tummy (a 45 minute one, of course) and when he went back up to get him, he was laying on his back! He hasn't done it since. Kyle said he tried a few times during tummy time after his nap, but got tired and quit trying. He was 14 weeks old yesterday. I get to add another sticker to his first year calendar.

Addition: He rolled over again last evening while he was having his tummy time. It was so cute! He hasn't rolled over yet today. I'm hopeful, though!

So I told him, never figure that out again...

Friday night for Luke's 3 month birthday, we took him to Texas Road House for supper...really we just wanted to go...and while there Kyle estimated that I have fed Luke over 750 times.

Important Update

I dont' know HOW I could have forgotten to mention this. It's only the single biggest event in my life right now!! Luke has slept through the night 4 nights in a row! After talking to Audra, I now feed Luke for the last time at night at 10:30 and he sleeps until 7:15! He actually goes down for the night around 7:30 (if nothing threw off his schedule that day) and I get him up and feed him at 8 and then again at 10:30. He gets probably a good 11 1/2 hours of sleep every night. Which makes his new unfortunate habit of only taking 45 minute naps during the day a little more bearable.

Weigh Check

This is Luke's sad face. It's pretty pittiful. Especially when that little chin of his quivers.
LOVE his expression in this picture.

Here he is sitting in his Bumbo with the sleeper that Brandon and Shanna Hayes got him for Christmas.

Grandma Key made Luke this quilt for Christmas. He just discovered the wonderful different fabrics on it the other day. He would stare and stare at one pattern, then look at another and do the same thing. He has a pretty impressive attention span for a 3 month old. Not like Riley, his second cousin, I'm sure, but pretty impressive none the less.

Today Luke and I went to the doctor for a weigh check. He is three months old today. He weighed 12lbs 8oz. He gained 1lb 4oz in one month. He is beginning to outgrow some of his 0-3 months clothes. He's getting big! I sang him happy birthday today. He looked at me. Then I sang:
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
You look like a monkey,
And you smell like one too!
He thought that was hilarious and gave me the hugest grin ever. It was pretty cute.

To tide you over.

It's been a while since I've posted a new picture. Here's one I took today. Luke enjoys a good fist. To suck on, to look at...they're very multipurposeful.

New Milestones!!

Luke decided that today would be a day of performances. The first one, not a good one at all!

We have been struggling to get Luke to take a bottle. He took the first two like a champ and we thought we would have no problems getting him to take a bottle. We were WRONG! After the first two, he would refuse and gag himself and choke on the bottle. Kyle enjoyed none of this, as he's the one giving the bottles. We finally emailed our pediatrician to get some advice, although we knew what he would say. We were right. I also got the advice of some other mommy friends. So this morning, I hid in our room and Kyle got up with Luke and tried to feed him at 7:30. It was a no go. I had bought several different bottles with different nipples on them to try. Kyle tried on and off until 9:30 when Luke at 3 oz. Not a full feeding, but close. So we called it a success. He went from 3:30am to 9:30 am with out eating. Kyle's going to start giving Luke one bottle a day at differing times. I have a meeting after church tomorrow, so he'll feed him them and attemp until he eats, and I will stay away until the meeting is over or Luke eats, whatever comes first. Then, Monday, Kyle will feed Luke at his 10:30 feeding. Our goal in all of this is to hire a babysitter once in a while...something I know Kyle is looking forward to. He likes to go out to the movies, and hasn't been able to. I'd like to be able to play Bunco with the girls at church one evening a month....

Also today was Luke's first official giggle. He's been working on giggling for a few weeks now, but finally mastered the task this evening. He giggled several times in a row, and there was no mistaking it. Our new goal in life will be to catch this event on video.

Luke also found his voice today. He's been doing some random cooing and noise making, and a few joyful noises unto his bear mobile that he loves so much...but tonight, it was just like he realized he could make noises ON PURPOSE! WHENEVER HE WANTED TO!! Needless to say, it was REALLY cute. I think finding his voice had something to do with the giggling as well.

Luke will be three months old this coming Friday, the 18th. I plan on taking him to the pediatrician on that day for a weigh check, so you can be looking for that update in a week. Kyle and I suspect he might be in the 12's now. He also seems longer to me. I'm excited and sad at the same time to see how much he's grown.

We're beginning on working on sleeping through the night. I added another feeding. His last feeding of the evening had been at 8pm and then he'll wake up once in the night...usually between 3 and 4. So, as of last night, I'm feeding him at 10:30 as well. He still got up at his usual 3:30am last night, but I'm hoping he'll extend that to later now. We'll see. He's really growing up!
