Luke's first public prayer

Luke has his buddy Karter (20 months-ish)
 Luke built a snow man!
 Pants heads!
At church on Sunday mornings we all start off together.  The kids go to the front row and are led in some fun VBS type songs.  Darrel Sears, our preacher, usually leads this and does  a really great job.  Luke always sits in the front row and sucks his thumb.  He doesn't sing.  He doesn't stand.  He doesn't do the actions.  But he requests the songs from me at home.  And one week we were late...you'd've thought the end of the world was coming  Luke almost cried because he missed singing the songs.  He loves it.  We have been very careful to not be late since.  When they're done singing, one of the kids leads a prayer and then they all disperse to their classes.  Darrel asks the child ahead of time. Luke, of course, doesn't know this so two weeks ago, when Darrel called whoever's turn it was to say the prayer up to the front to lead the church in prayer, Luke shoots out of his seat and asks.  The next week?  He does the same thing.  So Darrel asks Luke after worship last week if he'd like to say the prayer next week.  Luke *I think* is the youngest to lead the prayer.  Another boy who is 4 has led it.  Sometimes they lead the prayer on their own, sometimes they have help from Darrel. And it's always very sweet and one of my favorite times of worship.  I love that we are a part of a church where our boys have the opportunity to learn to serve in this way.
Anyway, I was a bit nervous about Luke leading the prayer.  He's not typically a large group person and tends to be shy in those situations.  So I thought maybe he would feel shy and end up not saying anything, or speak so quietly that the microphone wouldn't even be able to pick up his words.  I had intended to practice with him this morning, but forgot.  Kyle didn't though!  He tried to help Luke, but Luke didn't want help.  Show time comes.  And Luke did FABULOUS!!!  His little voice sounded so sweet.  I wish I had it recorded or at least remembered it word for word.  He did it all by himself and made his proud mama tear up (probably pregnancy hormones ;) )

Dear God,
Thank you for the nice weather we got.  Thank you for God.  Thank you for church.  Thank you for my family.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

I'm pretty sure he said thank you for one or two other things that I've forgotten.  I know I've already said it, but he did such a good job!

And Leta was cute today too.  She flirted with every man that walked past our table at Qdoba.
