Says Luke

Luke takes his afternoon nap at 12:30. Yesterday at 12:15 he crawled up into my lap, put his arms around me, laid his head on my shoulder and said, "Night night mama. Bed."

Updates.

Kyle: Has been working on the playset. He has had help. My dad helped over Memorial Day and then he worked for an hour here, 2 hours there as he could fit it in. But then our friend Johnny came and stayed with us a couple of days and they worked a lot and got it finished. Kyle would have finished the playset eventually, but I know it wouldn't be done yet....THANK YOU JOHNNY!!!

Johnny brought his boys out a couple of the days and Luke had so much fun playing with them. He still asks about Damian. Damian and Isaac, like Luke, loved the 4 Wheeler.
Luke: Luke got a new life jacket for the lake. Just look at that HUGE 20lb "fish" Kyle caught!

Luke also loves to play in the sprinklers every chance he gets...which is basically however often I will let him. He loves it. The water is freezing and comes out really hard, but he doesn't seem to mind at all.

Plus, playing in the sprinklers means you end up covered in grass so you have to have a bath, the only thing that will get Luke inside without a fit. The promise of a cookie or a snack works too. Our friends the Hayes had their baby so we took them supper one night as a bribe to come over and gawk at their baby. Luke loves Karter. We had to limit his "holding Karter" time. He can only be gentle for so long.

Luke was so sweet and would kiss his little forhead and give him sweet hugs that quickly turned into bear hugs that just might squish a new baby in half. Luke also enjoyed the lake last weekend and liked to see all the other boats out on the water. "Bo" and "wa-wer".
Me: I've been feeling okay. No throwing up so not horrible at all. I have been very tired and have needed a nap every day. Luke and I go down everyday about the same time =). I'm teaching a 5 day a week 3 week long boot camp from 6:30-7:30 in the morning. So, I'll be headed to bed extra early tonight so I can be up at 5:30 tomorrow. However, I don't know if I'll make it until Luke's naptime tomorrow. I might need a morning nap as well.

Meal Plan

I've already started on this meal plan, but have yet to do the grocery shopping that goes with it, so I'm limited in my choices.

French Bread Pizza
Shish-k-bobs (marinated 24 hrs in Chicago style steak marinade)
Grilled Chicken
Grilled round steak
Audra's Chicken and Rice (had this tonight...made it in the crock pot since I knew I'd be at the Dr)
Audra's Swiss Steak
Spaghetti
Macaroni and Cheese
Cheater Chicken Divan
Broccoli Tuna Casserole
Feta Stuffed chicken breasts (doubled) Having the neighbors (Rick and "Dia" Davida) over for supper.

Extras include: cheesecake (rick and Davida), bundt cake (traver's birthday request), cookies (take to a cook out at Travers) and meat for a neighborhood cookout at our place after our neighborhood clean up day.

And I'll probably make pizza sometime. Because it just makes Kyle so happy.

This past meal plan I made pizza, chicken strips and french toast, so I was able to really stretch it out. Normally I buy a couple loaves of sliced sourdough, but I was at Target and the sourdough didn't look large enough so I got white panini bread and it made really good french toast. We had that for breakfast when Doug, JoAnne and Jimmy stopped by on their way home to Houston and JoAnne even asked what kind of bread I'd used, so I might just have to permanantly switch.

From the mouth of babes....

Breaking News. You heard it here first.

Well, if you think you can't see anything, that's because there really isn't much to see. There is a head. And a body area. Really the thing is more tadpole like than anything else. It's scheduled to make it's grand appearance January 23, 2010. Right now, it's keeping me on a quite rigorous napping schedule which is making it hard to get anything done, but this too shall pass.

We are VERY excited. Hip hooray for tadpole babies!

Amelia Grace Olson

Born May 30, weighing 7lbs 11 oz and 20 inches long, she was named quite a while later, but I'd say all the time paid off.  Beautiful new niece!

On a Luke note, Kyle was gone Friday, Saturday and Sunday and all day yesterday (he went to Dana's to get him set up on his old computer) and around 4:30 Luke and I were reading on the couch and I looked down at him and his eyes were all filled with tears, so I asked him what was wrong and he broke out it the saddest, most heartbroken sobbs ever.  Crocodile tears and everything and said, "Daddy, daddy, daddy".  He was definately homesick for Kyle, who'd been gone all last weekend moving in and setting up at the lake house and then Luke is going to Body and Soul with me now...so appearantly he hasn't gotten enough Daddy quality time.  So Luke is staying home from Body and Soul today with Kyle.
